The Med Bay is a 2x2 room unlocked at level 8. The Med Bay consumes a maximum of two power, and when fully charged, it will heal all Crew inside of it for 1 HP. The HP healed cannot go past the Crew's maximum HP, and Crew don't need to be idling inside the Med Bay for the healing to take effect.
The Med Bay heals Crew, as stated above. It's the most reliable and reusable way of healing damaged Crew, this makes it a big target for many ships. Thus, make sure to Armor the Med Bay well and have repair crew standing nearby that will leave once the Med Bay is fully repaired. Placement of the Med Bay is also important, place the Med Bay near important rooms like the Teleport to reduce Crew traffic.
When To Use
The Med Bay is best used in synergy with Teleport ships and Penetrator Missile ships because of how important Crew are in those strategies. The Med Bay works in other strategies, but it may cause traffic jams due to the large amount of Crew moving in and out of the Med Bay.
The Med Bay should always be on if the player plans on using it. Below is an AI command put on Crew so they can use the Med Bay when they are seriously injured. Also, Med Bays are categorized as "Medical Room" in AI coding.
